American Racing

I purchased a set of American Racing rims, AR172 Baja from the Discounted Wheel Warehouse online. After installing and a short period of time, I noticed my center caps were missing. I contacted DWW and ordered replacements. After a month I contacted them back to find that even though I had provided my bank acct info twice to the CSR on the phone, that my order was never placed. No compensation offered or provided, I contacted the Better Business Bureau and made a report.

Then I contacted Amercian Racing for help in finding another retailer that would carry the part I needed. No response. I found another retailer on my own, purchased another set, went to their location, discussed it, explained I thought they were falling off the vehicle. The Tech said that was unlikely, asked to install the new ones. I let him and we again discussed it, him saying that it’s likely someone stole them. I explained that it was one at a time, one was missing, then another, then another, we were both confused. The very next day, driving on the highway I hear a sound after hitting a bump. Get off the find my right front cap is missing.

By the end of the week, I literally watched one fall off as my girlfriend pulled the truck out the driveway. I’ve contact Amercian Racing multiple times, thru the contact page on the Amercian Racing website and thru a few of the email contacts on the Platinum Group page to no avail. No one has responded to my concerns. I’m a returning customer, have used Amercian Racing rims on at least 2 of my vehicles. Never again.
