I waited 10 minutes to be seated, I was the only one waiting to be seated and all the workers just totally ignored me. When I finally got seated the waitress that seated me in her section, then she seated another customer and waited on them before waiting on me. Finally after 10 minutes she waited on me, I asked for the manager and I was told the manager was too busy at the moment. With this kind of service how do they expect to stay in business? This was the worst experience I have ever had at Steak N Shake.

Steak ‘n Shake in Southaven Ms is disgusting, as I was at the Speaker ordering my food around 11:30pm there was two people standing out back, they were standing there the entire time I waited to order which was about 20 minutes then stood there the entire time I ordered. I got to the window and asked who the manager on duty was and they said Ashley it was Ashley the manager and another employee out back hanging out and kissing and hugging all over each other for about30 minutes as I’m sitting at the window I see Ashley yell babe! Let’s go smoke. They proceeded to go back outside. The food was cold and took forever but the employees are that much worse. You all allow your managers to date employees and love all over each other on the clock? There has to be a line drawn somewhere!

I went to Steak n Shake and I’m still in tears from what occurred.
I am a regular customer and tonight I came in and I ordered things it was treated very rudely you. First, I accidentally dropped my shakes because of the tray the waiter put our drinks in and The lady/cashier was very rude. I ignored it and my shakes were remain. 
Then I get my shakes and I drop them because this time the carrier had two of them and it tipped from my large Tea, the waitress yelled at me in Front of every one and she said: Well, don’t think you’re are getting it replaced, then turns around and laughs about me. I said for get and left and without my drink

Steak ‘n Shake Enterprises / Portabello and swiss burger

Me and my family have been going to the S&S in Leesburg Florida today June 1st around 845-9pm. I ordered the same thing I always order, a Portabello and swiss burger, WITHOUT onion. I stress this several times as I get sick at the tast of it and every time without fail I recieve the mushroom n swiss with onion in there when the person who took my order specifically told them no onion. I asked that they take it and fix it. The burger came back to my table quick enough my 7 year old made the comment “wow that was fast” and when looking at it what we thoguht at the time was the cook had just scraped off the onion and sent it back out. So we asked for the Manager. We had our server come back out and wanted to relay the information back to the manager vs coming out to talk to us. We then explained that we wanted a NEW burget without the onion as even taking it off the last sandwich one could still smell and presumedly taste the onion. It then took about 15 minutes for them to make my 1 burger correctly and was long enough my 2 kids wife and the rest of my family was done and wanting to leave. So I ate it quikly as my wife went up to pay the bill and talk to the manager (Jackie) sp?. So everything was explained to her as we saw it where we were then corrected that SHE was the one who took the onion off and gave it back to us. My wife then explained the idea of digging though the burger to get the onion out is not appatizing regarless of the manager explaining her hands were clean. After further protest and words we were blown off and they refunded the cost of the burger which seemed to be done more so she could go about doing what she wanted vs helping a customer. Ive not witten any other company in my life but this felt like a complete violation on the idea behind ordering food and having a customer satisfaction driven goal. Again this is just the last time in a line of several instances where I received incorrect orders and have to either walk back inside and correct them or worse drive back the 20 min when we find out at home. I feel the lack of care by the manager was absolutely unacceptable and I would like a follow up on anything that comes from this letter. Thank you for your time

Terrible service, sat for an hour before drinks were ordered and when she arrived she stated “to hurry up she had a ton of [censored] to do” as if we hadn’t been there for an hour…never brought us shakes or our ticket, we tried to pay up front and were told we couldn’t without a check? Which was another 30 min to find her. The store had maybe 3 other tables occupied with 4 sets of people waiting to be seated. No one apologized. Not expecting fantastic service but also not expecting to walk by and hear my waitress complaining about the table behind us (who had been there an hour and a half with no drinks) that “they were complaining they were [censored]ing here before others and [censored] like shut up” not a very professional face they’re putting with your name.

Steak ‘n Shake Enterprises / service

This is the fifth time I’ve stopped in the drive thru between 5 a.m. and 6:30 a.m. and I’ve seen people through their window they look but they don’t ask to take my order and they just dance around and have fun and laugh and carry on meanwhile I wait 5 to 10 minutes and then I leave very disappointed every time. Another time I asked for a Frisco melt and the person taking my order said I don’t want to make that s***.

The steak and shake in Cincinnati, oh on ridge ave has the worst service in the evening. I’ve been here several times on the weekend and they only have 1 server. It’s been a different server but only 1 server. The dining room tables are always dirty, floor filthy and and customers are waiting to be seated.

Tonight I actuary witnessed the waitress tell 2 guest customers that she couldn’t take anymore customers because they would be waiting a long time to be served. So of course they left. She had 8 parties already and she was trying to serve them all by herself. I asked her where the manager was at and she said they left and walked away. T

here were 2 workers near the drink station just talking and not helping her do anything. She asked if they could help clean the tables off for her or get drinks but they said no and laughed at her.

She went around cleaning and wiping off tables whilethe customers were sitting at the table. This was very unsanitary. I had to sit at my table kicking food around on the floor. My waitress then walked around and told every table that their check will be at the register.

I turned and she was ringing customers out while still trying to serve other customers their food. This place should really be running better then this on the weekend. There are a lot of people that comes to this restaurant after the movies but some slowly walk away due you the slow business.

Steak ‘n Shake Enterprises / Carmel Indiana location keystone and Carmel drive

I eat at steak and shake probably Twice a week at the beech grove location. that place is fantastic. The location next to my house in Carmel in is an absolute joke To say the least. I have been there 3 times in the past 3 months and the service is a joke there’s usually only 2 waitresses working at any give time, 1 cook and 1 manager. I get the fact that they only make $8.00 an hour but my god man we went in today due my kids love this place.

We waited over an hour for our food. When we finally received our food and it was ice cold and all orders were shorted. Not to mention only 1 drink within 1 hour. So finally when we completed are meal I walked up to the register to pay I was greeted by the manager and was asked how was our meal was,

I explained it was probably the worst experience I have ever had at any restaurant ever and I eat out probably 12 times a week over the past 20yrs since I work outside of the house. Which just blows my mind. And at no time was there any compensation offered by manager he just shrug at me and told me
My total.

Please just add more labor and maybe employ more people and give them sort of incentive you know to actually give a [censored]. I’m just saying please feel free to give me call to discuss. I also tried to call customer service tonight and was on hold for 20minutes. It never ends I own my company and I know I would lose customers operating this way.

THIS PLACE SUCKS AND IM PISSED

Steak ‘n Shake Enterprises / Wait staff and food.

December 25th, 2018 my family and I went to the steak and shake by our home for dinner. We are a split family and we only had some of our kids, it’s been a hard few years and we don’t have family or friends to visit.. so we went there to eat. We were sat down in a timely manner and fully aware that it was Christmas night, and that they were very busy. We had a waitress come and take our drink orders, and tried to take our food order but we hadn’t even been given menu’s.

That seemed to upset her, that we weren’t prepared to order. However she stayed professional and got us our menus. Like I said it was very busy, and my fiancé and I are not ones to complain. We sat and talked, she finally came back with our drinks which were wrong.. however we didn’t say much about it and let it go.

We ordered our food. It took over an hour to bring it to us.. ( we were still fine with that it’s busy, it’s Christmas, no big deal) The waitress we had at the time was pretty nice, I even thought to myself.. man I want to tip her big, she’s working on Christmas night and is super busy..

I know this is hard work. However, when she brought our food finally.. my food and my fiancé’s food was totally wrong.. again we said nothing. I was so hungry at this point we just wanted to eat. When she came back to finally fill our drinks some of the other guests at our table asked her for the ranch they had ordered. The lady became visibly angered.. she said in a loud tone “I KNOW!” and stomped off..

when she came back we asked for tomato and lettuce for our hamburgers.. we didn’t get what we ordered but we would make the best of it. She stopped.. stared at us with a very mean grimace and said “both of yall want lettuce and tomato?!?” and we said “yes please” and she turned away in a huff. She brought the lettuce and tomato and ranch back to our table and threw it down hard.

We were all in shock. She went from being pretty nice to extremely angered. I was immediately uncomfortable and unable to eat my dinner..
We didn’t have napkins, I was afraid to even ask her for a refill or napkins.. however someone else at our table turned to her as she was working and asked her for napkins.. she stood there and starred at us. It was like a stare down, I didn’t know what was happening. I thought she was going to flip the tables.

I am not exaggerating.. it was the weirdest experience. She stared us down and then said “you want napkins?!” and she grabbed some and threw them down on the table. At this point I was ready to just get out of there.. we got no refills on our drinks and we were pretty much terrified of this woman.

She eventually came back to our table said “everything was good right? your ticket is at the front”–didn’t ask if we needed refills, didn’t ask if we needed to go boxes, didn’t say thank you –nothing. We went to the front politely asked for a to go box.. we had wrapped some chicken fingers in napkins.

Well that must have upset her too because she stormed off to get it. We paid and left, however she was not kind, didn’t say merry Christmas, didn’t say thank you… and when our other guests were paying and couldn’t get the card reader to work she was sighing and getting impatient.. it was so very awkward and a horrible experience. We want you to know that this happened, it was a terrible example for Steak and Shake.

A refund would be great.. and an apology. She ruined our Christmas dinner, and caused us all to be quite fearful to even ask for anything. I am applaud at the way we were treated. It is unnecessary. We are very understanding people. We know it was Christmas and it’s a hard time for some,

we understand people most likely don’t want to be working on Christmas– we weren’t having a great time either, it’s a very emotional and hard day for us, and to be treated so badly on top of that was just wrong. I hope that this issue is resolved and no one else will ever be treated in the manner we were. Thank you for your time.

Steak ‘n Shake Enterprises / Wrong order

I ordered a burger and fries to go today. I got to work and opened the bag to find some gross looking soup thing. I’m unable to leave work to get the order fixed. I called the store, explained their mistake calmly and asked if they could deliver the correct order. The answer given was no. I work in the same city as the restaurant.

Silly me for thinking it would be hard to screw up the one to go order. I should’ve checked the bag before leaving. I should have just packed a lunch like every other day.

I won’t starve but it was a waste of six dollars and forty five cents. Our state just passed a bill to raise the minimum wage to twelve dollars an hour. Doesn’t seem like it’s being earned.
